Everything you need to know about Umrah from Bangladesh — visa, cost, hotels, what to pack.

Performing Umrah is a deeply personal journey, and getting the logistics right lets you focus on what matters. This guide walks Bangladeshi pilgrims through every step — from choosing a package to what to pack.

Choosing the right package

Umrah packages from Dhaka generally fall into four tiers — Economy, Standard, Premium and VIP — separated mainly by hotel star rating and distance from the Haram. Economy packages place you 800m–1km away with shared transport, while Premium and VIP put you within 100–200m with private transfers and full board.

Visa and documents

The Umrah visa is arranged by your licensed agency. You'll need a passport valid for at least six months, recent photographs, a vaccination certificate (including the meningococcal ACWY vaccine), and a confirmed package booking. Processing typically takes 5–10 working days.

What it costs

A 14-night package from Dhaka ranges from roughly BDT 165,000 for Economy to BDT 520,000 for VIP per pilgrim, all-inclusive of visa, return flights, hotels near the Haram, ground transport and a Bengali-speaking Mu'allim.

What to pack

Ihram garments, comfortable walking sandals, an unscented toiletry kit, a refillable water bottle, and a small bag for your shoes at the Haram. Keep your passport and a printed copy of your booking on you at all times.
